Right now I'm ~Nevah-Ann's illustrator, as you can see by my recent deviations ^^~ She wants me to turn one of her stories into a manga, so she's making a poll to see which story is the winner!

Vince – Fear of the Trade –

It may seem hard for you to comprehend a disease that may start like a flu, but turn into something that can paralyze and then kill a man by destroying the very muscles he needs to breathe. A disease that has practically been abolished in modern times, but I know it all to well. Polio. Paralytic polio. It didn’t kill me, but it damned me. I was on my deathbed when this stranger came from their dark world, with her fangs and her beauty, and into mine. She gave me a chance, and I wanted to live… I was on my last breathe when my final human thoughts occurred. My blood was already tainted by this disease, so why not taint it further? And so I became a monster just as she was. A vampire, serving eternity alone and finding the life I had so longed to save was so monotonous after so long. I needed something to do with myself that was important, so I took on the greatest task the world had: defending its leaders. A human prince became my charge and, inevitably, my fiend. He awoke things the monster in me had torn away. Restraint, kindness, and a feeling of being needed… until his death left me alone again. Being with him fooled me, it made me believe I had a place in the human world, but that, too, quickly changed when I was captured. These people were not the vampire slayers I had heard rumors of; they didn’t want me dead… they wanted me alive so I could be theirs to use as they saw fit… a slave trade for supernatural prisoners, run by other monsters who betrayed our world. They called themselves The Gantos… and I am not theirs.
